Join our 2021 Mentoring Program as a Mentor, Mentee (or Both)
PWN’s successful Mentoring Program is one of the valued-added benefits for all our PWN Premium Members. Research suggests that the support of a professional mentor is crucial for success in our careers and development and during 2020 we have successfully matched 25 of our Mentees with local mentors, who come with a diverse background of knowledge, skills and experience and volunteer to 'give back' to our community.
Whether you are seeking support from an experienced professional to help your career goals take shape, or you would like to gain experience as a Mentor, applying your expertise and knowledge, this program provides a unique opportunity.

The 2021 mentoring program commences end January 2021 following the closure of our application process. This year we are pleased to announce the following types of mentoring experiences:
The application period is open from 1 December 2020 - 31 January 2021.
Each mentee receives ten mentoring sessions of approx 1-2 hours each meeting. Student mentees (from our partners EDHEC will receive 4 mentoring sessions to be able to accommodate the demands of their academic timetables).
A mentor masterclass is held at the beginning of the program to support mentors in the process and ensure shared practice amongst mentors and bi-monthly mentor masterclasses will be held on topics identified to support our mentors. A support toolkit will also be available for mentors and mentees will be encouraged to use a reflective journal during their sessions.
Mentoring is an effective approach to develop people - leading to enhanced skills, abilities, confidence and behaviours. Mentoring can differ from coaching in that it is takes place over an agreed period and the mentee receives support, guidance and advice from someone (mentor) who is experienced and is able to use their knowledge and experience to guide and develop the mentee.
New approaches to mentoring include, Peer or Parallel Mentoring, where two people are working together to reach a common goal, and also Reverse Mentoring, where a younger person is guiding an older and more experienced person in areas like technology, social media, and current trends.
There is no formal qualification to be a mentor. You only need to be willing to share personal experiences and knowledge and reflect deeply with the other person in a non-judgmental manner.
There will always be some cross-over with coaching and mentoring.

We invite local professionals - both men and women - to serve in the role of a mentor and share themselves for the benefit of professional women. Past and current mentors from the PWN Nice-Côte d’Azur Mentoring Program have had a variety of professional backgrounds and provided mentoring on many topics – career transitions, increased self-confidence and self-esteem, effective communication, how to market yourself, improved leadership skills, etc. Mentors are welcome to participate without PWN membership.
